Reflection 2: Ambitions a.k.a. Dreams

Do u know what my childhood ambition was?

I am not telling you just yet. Make a guess using the survey found at the right sidebar. Let's see how many could read my mind! *bluetooth* =D

Everyone has childhood dreams and so do I. Many years later, today, I still talk fondly about this childhood ambition of mine though it has long passed its expiry date. There's nothing wrong to dream, dream about what u want to achieve in your limited lifespan on Earth. It keeps me going & it provides me the drive, the motivation to move on in life. I know very well, passion and determination play an important part to achieve success.

I always remember the story about the Wright brothers, Orville & Wilbur, who dreamt of flying. Everyone thought it was IMPOSSIBLE back then, but they sure proved that was "I M POSSIBLE" instead. The first human flight by the brothers in a controllable powered aircraft took place on 17 Dec 1903. It lasted 12 seconds flying at 36.5m above ground for the first attempt. By the fourth and last attempt of the day, they clocked a timing of 59 seconds flying at 260m above ground.

Let me quote this famous line from Neil Armstrong, the first man who stepped onto the lunar surface on 20 Jul 1969:

"one small step for a man; one giant leap for mankind".

What's the moral of both stories? Anything, even if it seems impossible now, is possible. Don't let anyone stop u from dreaming of what u want to achieve.
