Monitor & Monitoress - Term 2

U may think that it's a little late. Afterall, we are already half-way through Term 2. It's the 5th week, to be exact!

If u remember, our former monitor, Chen Keat, & monitoress, Trina, were elected only in Week 4 of Term 1. They have since officially relinguished their posts on 14 April 2008. Chen Keat and Trina have done well for the past 11 weeks. Let's hope the two of them can continue to be of great assistance to both their teachers and peers! =D

The latest election bore witness to fierce popularity fights between Zane and Vikaesh for the post of the class monitor, and between Andrea and Shernise for the post of the class monitoress.

Zane eventually edged out Vikaesh by one single vote, 15-14. While Andrea garnered 16 votes to beat Shernise's 14. Zane and Andrea will carry out their new roles for a period of one term, starting from Term 2 Week 5.

5.7 Star Pupil & Best Progress - Mar 2008

Zane Chee - 5.7 Star Pupil for the Month of March 2008

A highly self-motivated pupil who displays great passion in his pursues of new knowledge, and is a model of excellence where work is concerned.

Zane participates and engages himself actively in school activities. He always performs his roles to the best of his capacity, working tirelessly towards the success of whatever he undertakes. He is a school student leader and is a good role model. In class, he also displays a strong sense of commitment as the English Representative.

Zane is a likeable boy who takes pride in his work and possesses the potential to excel to a greater height.

Malini - 5.7 Best Progress for the Month of March 2008

Malini has made good and consistent progress in her academic work. She has also shown positive attitude towards her given assignment and is receptive towards her teachers' feedback.

With continuous guidance and encouragement, Malini will do well in all departments.

Lee Song Ze - 5.7 Best Spirited Learner (Special Award)

Song Ze displays tremendously positive attitude towards all assignments given and always gives of his best effort to accomplish them, even when under adverse conditions. Though results could be better, his effort is nevertheless highly commendable.

He is a nice and amiable boy who is thoughtful towards others. He is helpful and never hesitate to help others. Song Ze is well-liked by both his peers and teachers. =)

Road Safety Park @ East Coast

Visit to the Road Safety Park was the only excursion during my primary school days that I could still remember vividly. Of course, we went to the zoo, birdpark, Science Centre etc. too. But nothing beats the Road Safety Park trip. =D

I was one of the fortunate motorists then, which many participants had yearned for. I could still remember it was a red kart that I had to pedal. Slow and strenuous... The new kart we saw this morning was way much better, that I was at one point tempted to drive off with one. So I had to steal while the driver wasn't around. =P

Each of you will receive a Certificate of Commendation.

See, didn't I say pedestrian stands a greater chance of winning? 3 out of 4! Three quarters! =D

The only disappointed that I felt was the missing traffic marshals. There was no order and it was chaotic! In the end, I thought it was unfair to many. Hopefully, the trip there did not backfire on our objective to instill road safety awareness... =S
